Serious Side Effects

  1. Chest pains are uncommon. Should this occur before, during or after sexual activity, seek medical assistance immediately. Place yourself in a semi-sitting position and try to relax. Nitrates should NOT be used to treat chest pain. 
  2. An erection lasts more than four hours and is often painful. This is a rare occurrence.
  3. Sudden vision loss or a decrease in vision: this occurs rarely.
  4. An allergic reaction is rare. The most common symptoms are sudden wheezing, difficulty breathing, dizziness, swelling of lips, eyelids, or face.
  5. A rare occurrence is Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) or toxic epidermal syndrome (TEN). It can cause severe skin peeling and swelling, as well as blisters in the mouth, genital area, and around the eye area.
  6. Seizures or fits: this occurs rarely.

Common Viagra Connect Side Effects

  1. Headache
  2. Nausea, indigestion, stuffy nose, dizziness
  3. Facial flushing, hot flush (a sudden feeling of heat in your upper body)
  4. Colour tinge to vision, blurred vision, visual disturbance

Uncommon Side Effects

  1. Vomiting, upper abdominal pain, acid reflux (including heartburn)

  6. Low blood pressure (typical signs are dizziness, fainting, blurred vision, nausea and tiredness)
  7. Muscle pain, feeling sleepy, reduced sense of touch, vertigo, ringing in the ears
  8. Dry mouth, blocked or stuffy sinuses, inflammation of the lining of the nose (can be experienced as runny nose, sneezing and stuffy nose)
  9. Presence of blood in the urine
  10. Fainting, dry nose, swelling of the inside of the nose, feeling irritable and sudden decrease or loss of hearing
  11. Sudden unexpected death caused by loss of heart function (sudden cardiac arrest), stroke, heart attack, chest pains (angina), irregular heartbeat, temporarily decreased blood flow to parts of the brain
  12. The feeling of tightening of the throat, numb mouth
  13. Bleeding at the back of the eye, double vision, reduced sharpness of vision, abnormalsensation in the eye, swelling of the eye or eyelid, small particles or spots in your vision,seeing halos around lights, dilation of the pupil of the eye, discolouration of the white of the eye
  14. Penile bleeding, presence of blood in semen
