You can collect your prescription within 2 hours of it being sent to us. Visit us at your convenience
*Electronic Prescription UK are available at Westbury through participating GP practices. If you are not local to Streatham, your GP may advise you to choose an alternative community pharmacy for your prescriptions.

What is an electronic prescription service?
An electronic prescription service or EPS is a service that allows patients to allocate their desired pharmacy for their prescriptions. Prescriptions are then sent directly to that pharmacy. You no longer need to keep tabs on your paper prescription and have signed off by your GP once you’re using the service.
How does the electronic prescription service work?
- Visit your GP and ask them to send your prescription to your community pharmacy or Westbury Chemist if you are local to the Streatham area
- Your GP will send your approved prescription to your chosen pharmacy
- Prescriptions can be picked up at a time that is convenient for you. Typically, this will depend on when the pharmacy receives it and dispenses your medication.
How to access NHS electronic prescription service?
There are two ways in which you can access your NHS electronic prescription services:
- Via a mobile app – Nowadays, prescriptions are taken online which means you can several apps available and approved by the NHS in the UK to order your prescriptions. In addition, some of these apps will allow you to manage your prescriptions. Westbury Chemist offers online NHS prescription services in addition to online repeat prescription services.
- Online Portal – Some pharmacies offer online portals where you can manage and order your prescriptions too.
It is possible to check the status of your prescription with the pharmacy if your GP sends your prescription directly to your chosen pharmacy or chemist. Additionally, NHS digital offers an app for ordering NHS prescriptions.
How to cancel electronic prescription service?
If you have set up your electronic prescription service through your GP, you can contact them to cancel your EPS services. This means that your prescriptions will no longer be sent to the pharmacy or chemist you have chosen.
Can I use EPS for electronic repeat dispensing?
You can order your repeat prescriptions directly from the pharmacy by users of the EPS service. Additionally, your GP will write your prescriptions for repeat use and send them to us or your preferred pharmacy for dispensing and preparation for collection.
