Importance of your travel vaccinations
Imagine spending an ample amount of time planning the perfect holiday. Everyone is excited. The children are ready with their buckets and spades, Mum is ready with sun-tan lotion and sunglasses and dad is ready with the Kindle and swim shorts. It’s going to be a great trip.
But there’s a slight problem. No one remembered to get their travel vaccinations.
Travel vaccinations are there to keep you and the family safe from diseases which may or may not be curable or preventable. Whether it’s yellow fever, cholera or rabies, protecting yourself and your family should be a priority.
Sometimes health care is not optimal or easily accessible in certain areas. Taking the risk of not being vaccinated before you travel could take away all the fun you have planned for your holiday.
Now, we understand that knowing which vaccines to take can be confusing. That’s why we’ve introduced Pharmacy consultations. A professional from our team can consult you and advise you on what you need and all the dos and don’ts of the country you’re travelling to. Sounds like something you need? Book Pharmacy Consultation.
Planning well and organising your vaccinations in advance
Vaccinations require incubation periods. The incubation period is the time required for the vaccination to fully take effect in your body. The vaccine takes 6-8 weeks to fully affect your body.
It’s important to plan your travel vaccines ahead of time and before the 6-8 week period. Often, vaccinations that have not been given enough time may not be as effective as they should be. Book your next vaccination at our travel clinic in Streatham, Croydon
