Acnecide Skincare Description
Acnecide is a collection of products designed to help treat facial acne.
They can help enhance your skin's condition by removing oil and dirt.
There are four different products — a gel, a cleanser, a wash and a moisturiser

What Acnecide skincare products are there?

Acnecide offers four main products: Acnecide Face Gel, Acnecide Face Wash, Acnecide Daily Cleanser, and Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30. Both the Face Gel and Face Wash contain 5% benzoyl peroxide, a strong antiseptic used to treat acne. While they function similarly, the Face Wash is rinsed off after use, whereas the Face Gel is left on the skin to absorb. These products are most suitable for mild acne.

Acnecide Daily Cleanser is a foaming face wash designed for daily use to help reduce acne and maintain clear skin. The Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 keeps your skin healthy and hydrated without blocking your pores, and also protects against sun damage. Regular cleansing and moisturising help remove excess oil and dirt, while maintaining your skin's natural barrier.

How does Acnecide skincare work?

Acnecide Face Gel and Acnecide Face Wash are effective treatments for mild acne, thanks to the powerful antiseptic benzoyl peroxide. This ingredient helps eliminate the bacteria on your skin that can lead to acne. It also acts as a comedolytic, which means it helps to unclog your pores. Additionally, it reduces inflammation, helping to clear spots and leave your skin looking clearer. Acnecide Daily Cleanser removes dirt and impurities. Being soap-free and gentle, it maintains your skin's natural barrier and is less likely to cause irritation, making it ideal for daily use.

Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 keeps your skin moisturised and shields it from the sun, all without feeling too heavy. Acne treatments can often dry out your skin, but Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 helps to stop this from happening. It works alongside your acne treatment to maintain healthy skin and protect against spots.

Which types of Acnecide skincare should I use?

Acnecide Face Gel and Acnecide Face Wash are quite similar in how they work, so the choice is yours. Both are effective treatments for acne. The main difference is in their use: you might prefer the Wash if you want to rinse it off, or the Gel if you’d like to leave it on.

If you have sensitive skin that's prone to spots, Acnecide Daily Cleanser could be a good choice for you. It's gentle enough for everyday use and won't dry out your skin. It's also suitable if you have conditions like eczema, or if your skin is dry or a mix of dry and oily. Additionally, it works well alongside stronger acne treatments, which can sometimes irritate your skin if used too frequently. Acnecide Daily Cleanser helps clear spots while keeping your skin’s pH balance in check.

If you're using a strong acne treatment like Acnecide Face Gel or Wash, adding Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 to your skincare routine can be quite important. These treatments can remove your skin's natural oils as they work on the acne, which can lead to dryness. This moisturiser is light enough to keep your skin hydrated without blocking your pores, helping to prevent acne from worsening. Plus, it offers natural protection to keep your skin healthy.

If you're dealing with acne, you might consider using Acnecide Face Gel or Acnecide Face Wash along with Acnecide Daily Cleanser and Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30. Using these products together can help reduce your acne and keep your skin clear, clean, and soft.

How long does it take Acnecide skincare to work?

If you're using Acnecide Face Gel or Acnecide Face Wash, you'll notice a quick reduction in acne and inflammation on your skin. However, it may take some time to see the full benefits. If you're unsure about its effectiveness, give it 12 weeks before consulting your clinician again.

You should keep using the Cleanser and Moisturiser daily. They are safe for your skin, and their benefits in maintaining your skin's health and protection improve with regular use.

What should I do if I make a mistake when using Acnecide skincare?

Avoid swallowing any of these treatments. If any gets into your mouth, nose, or eyes by accident, rinse them out well with clean water. When using the Acnecide Face Gel or Face Wash, be aware that they might bleach dyed fabrics. To prevent this, you can place towels over your pillows if you apply it before going to bed.

Avoid using Acnecide Face Gel or Face Wash on skin that is broken or damaged, as it could cause further irritation. Applying more of the Gel or Wash won't increase its effectiveness, so stick to using it no more than twice daily.

How is Acnecide skincare different from other treatments for acne?

Acnecide Face Gel and Acnecide Face Wash are the only branded acne treatments that contain benzoyl peroxide as their sole active ingredient. This could be a good option if you prefer to avoid multiple ingredients or if your skin is somewhat sensitive. Acnecide Daily Cleanser and Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 are designed to complement each other and the other treatments, making your acne care routine comprehensive and straightforward.

Can I buy Acnecide skincare over the counter?

Acnecide Face Wash is a pharmacy medicine, which means you don't need a prescription to get it. However, you can't simply pick it up from the shelf. You'll need to speak with a pharmacist first.

You can easily purchase Acnecide Face Gel, Acnecide Daily Cleanser, and Acnecide Moisturiser SPF30 over the counter. This means you can get them from a shop or pharmacy without needing to ask. If you'd like to discuss your acne with us, we can help find the treatments that suit you best.

How effective is Acnecide skincare?

A meta-analysis of various studies conducted in Europe, the USA, and Japan concluded that benzoyl peroxide is a safe and effective treatment for acne in people from different countries. It was found to be effective in reducing spots and inflammation, and is recommended for all skin types.

Another review of various acne treatments discovered that benzoyl peroxide was more effective at reducing spots and acne scars compared to clindamycin. It was also observed that using benzoyl peroxide on its own is less likely to lead to antibiotic resistance and is more cost-effective.
