Start by cleaning your hands thoroughly to avoid any potential infection.
Warm the ear drops to near body temperature by holding the container in your hand for a few minutes. Using cold drops can cause dizziness.
Shake the bottle well before use.
Tilt your head sideways or lie down with the affected ear facing up.
Gently pull the outer ear up and back in adults (down and back in children) to open up the ear canal.
Carefully drop the prescribed number of drops into the ear canal. Don't touch your ear with the dropper.
Keep your head tilted or stay lying down for about 2 minutes to allow the drops to penetrate.
You may use a soft cotton plug to keep the medicine in the ear, but don't push it too deeply.
Do not rinse the dropper and close the bottle tightly after each use.
Repeat the process for the other ear if advised by your doctor.
