Dermol Description
Dermol is a moisturising cream with antimicrobial properties used for psoriasis.
It helps to hydrate dry skin and fight off any infections.
It’s available as a cream, lotion, wash, and more.

What is Dermol?

Dermol is an antimicrobial treatment for psoriasis that includes emollients to soften and calm dry, irritated skin. Emollients are often the first choice for treating psoriasis as they rehydrate dry skin, lessen scaling, ease itching, soften cracks, and assist other topical treatments in absorbing into the skin. Since Dermol is antimicrobial, it might be a suitable option if you frequently experience itching or infections. It can help soothe and rehydrate dry skin while also combating infections that might occur from scratching.

You don't need a prescription to use Dermol – it's available as a pharmacy medication. When you buy it, you'll just need to answer a few straightforward questions from the pharmacist to ensure it's suitable for you.

How does Dermol work?

Dermol contains active ingredients that help to keep your skin moisturised and fight off infections. Liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate are emollients, which means they soften and hydrate your skin by locking in moisture, helping to restore its natural barrier. They also prevent your skin from becoming irritated or drying out after using regular cleansing products.

In the meantime, the antimicrobial ingredients in Dermol help shield you from infections that might worsen your condition. Chlorhexidine dihydrochloride works to lower the bacteria levels on your skin, and benzalkonium chloride acts as a powerful agent against bacteria and fungi.

Dermol eliminates bacteria and fungus on the skin, sterilises it, and also moisturises and protects dry skin to help ease your symptoms.

Are there different forms of Dermol?

There are several types of Dermol available, depending on your needs and lifestyle. If you need a substitute for soap or shower gel, Dermol 200 shower emollient or Dermol hand wash are perfect for replacing your usual products. Likewise, Dermol 600 bath emollient can be added to a warm bath instead of using fragranced bubble baths that might aggravate your condition.

If you're looking for a topical treatment to apply directly to the affected areas, Dermol cream or Dermol 500 lotion are both excellent choices. Dermol lotion has a lighter texture, making it ideal for mild to moderately dry skin, while Dermol cream is thicker and more suitable for severely dry skin.
