Doublebase Gel Description
Doublebase is a gel that can help soothe dry skin, dermatitis, and photodermatitis.
Helps keep your skin moisturised by sealing in hydration and shielding it from allergens and germs.
There are various forms available that you can use once a day, twice a day, or at regular intervals.

What is Doublebase Gel?

Doublebase Gel is an emollient that includes two active ingredients: liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate. These ingredients work together to hydrate your skin and help it retain moisture. This can be particularly helpful for managing dry skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis.

Dermatitis is a general term for conditions that lead to skin inflammation. This covers things like atopic eczema, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and photodermatosis. While the exact cause of these conditions isn't fully understood, they all involve a compromised skin barrier. Doublebase Gel can assist in repairing the skin barrier and reducing inflammation.

How does Doublebase Gel work?

Doublebase Gel contains two active ingredients: liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate.

Liquid paraffin is an emollient that creates a barrier on the skin, helping to prevent water from escaping. This keeps your skin moisturised and shields you from allergens and germs.
Isopropyl myristate is an emollient that helps to reinforce your skin's barrier by sealing in moisture, which keeps your skin hydrated.

Doublebase Gel includes glycerol, which helps to minimise water loss from the skin's surface. This combination offers immediate relief for dry skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Using it regularly can also help repair the skin barrier, easing inflammation, redness, and itching.

What different types of Doublebase are there?

There are several Doublebase products, each offering different benefits and uses. Doublebase Gel, Once, and Dayleve Gel are three moisturisers with the same active ingredients. The main difference lies in how often you need to apply them:

Doublebase Gel: Apply regularly.
Doublebase Once: Offers 24-hour skin hydration, so you only need to apply it once a day.
Doublebase Dayleve Gel: Offers extended hydration with just two applications daily.

You can also use soap substitutes like Doublebase Shower and Bath. Many shower products have strong chemicals and fragrances. While some people might not find them irritating, they can trigger flare-ups and make symptoms worse for those with dermatitis.

How long does Doublebase Gel take to work?

This depends on how severe your condition is and how often you use the treatment. If you have mild dermatitis, your dry, itchy skin is likely to improve more quickly than if you have severe dermatitis. Using the treatment regularly will also help speed up the healing process.

What should I do if I make a mistake when taking Doublebase Gel?

If you forget to apply Doublebase Gel, there's no need to worry. Simply use it as soon as you remember. If you accidentally apply too much, you can either let it absorb into your skin or wash it off and apply it again.
