Piriton Allergy Tablets Chlorphenamine 4mg is meant to be taken orally. For adults, the typical dosage is one tablet (4mg) every 4 to 6 hours, but no more than 6 tablets should be taken in a 24 hour period. For children aged 6 to 12 years, the dosage is usually half a tablet (2mg) every 4 to 6 hours, and no more than 6 half-tablets in 24 hours.
Always swallow the tablet whole, with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
Before starting on this medication, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you have any pre-existing conditions or if you are on any other medication. Do not exceed the recommended dose and discontinue use if you experience any adverse reactions.

Drowsiness or Dizziness: Chlorphenamine can cause drowsiness or dizziness, so refrain from driving, operating heavy machinery or engaging in other activities that require mental alertness.
Allergic reaction: Seek emergency medical help if you experience symptoms of a serious allergic reaction like rash, itching/swelling, severe dizziness or trouble breathing.
Dry mouth, nose, and throat: Drinking water frequently will help with dryness.
Constipation: Increase your intake of dietary fiber, increase fluid intake and exercise regularly to prevent constipation.
Older adults may be more susceptible to the side effects of this drug, particularly drowsiness, dizziness, low blood pressure, confusion and constipation.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breast-feeding.
Alcohol: Avoid drinking alcohol as it can increase some of the side effects of Chlorphenamine.
Drug interactions: Some drugs may interact negatively with Chlorphenamine, discuss your medications with your doctor before use.
Do not use Piriton if you are allergic to chlorphenamine or any other ingredients in the tablet.
Avoid driving or operating machinery as Piriton may lead to drowsiness or dizziness.
Consult with your doctor if you have breathing problems, glaucoma, prostate problems, or kidney or liver disease.
Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless advised by your doctor.
Avoid alcohol while taking this medication as it may increase sleepiness.
