Spedra is a medication for erectile dysfunction that works similarly to Viagra, but it acts more quickly.
Spedra contains the active ingredient avanafil, which works by relaxing your blood vessels and improving blood flow to your penis. This helps you achieve and maintain a firm erection, but you'll still need to be sexually aroused for the medication to be effective.
Spedra works fast and remains effective for up to 5 hours. This means you won't need to stress about finding the exact right moment to take it.
Spedra belongs to the same group of medicines as Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra. These are known as PDE5 inhibitors, which essentially means they block an enzyme called PDE5. This helps relax the blood vessels in your body, allowing blood to flow more easily to where it's needed, resulting in a firm erection.
Similar to other erectile dysfunction medicines, Spedra only assists with the physical aspect of sex. You still need to feel aroused for it to be effective.
Medications can have different names depending on the country. For example, what we call paracetamol here in the UK is known as acetaminophen in the USA, and Spedra is referred to as Stendra over there.
Spedra and Stendra are both produced by Menarini, contain avanafil, and are available in the same doses. The one you'll be prescribed depends on your location. In the UK, you'll receive Spedra.
Spedra is available in three different strengths: 50mg, 100mg, and 200mg.
Some men who take a 50mg dose notice it takes a while to work or doesn't keep them hard for long enough. Conversely, some men on 100mg or 200mg experience side effects. We generally suggest beginning with the lowest dose your doctor believes will be effective, then adjusting it based on how it works for you.
We'll assist you in finding the right Spedra dose for you. Please inform our clinician if it's your first time using Spedra or if you've taken it previously, so they can offer the best advice. Your medical conditions and lifestyle can also affect the dose. We'll discuss these with you before providing your prescription.
It might take a few tries to be effective. However, if the first pill doesn't help you achieve an erection, don't take another one straight away. Make sure you wait at least 24 hours before taking another pill.
If Spedra isn't giving you the results you're after, have a chat with us. It might just be a case of tweaking the dose, or perhaps trying a different ED medication might be the way forward. We're here to help you find the right balance: a medication that works well with minimal or no side effects.
No, most medications for erectile dysfunction, such as Spedra, require a prescription. You'll need approval from a doctor or a pharmacy prescriber to use them. This is because, although they are generally seen as low risk, they can be harmful to some individuals if not monitored by a healthcare professional.
Spedra often works well the first or second time you use it. In clinical trials, avanafil, which is the active ingredient in Spedra, showed that the 100mg dose was 11% more effective for men with ED compared to the 50mg dose.
If you're on 50mg and it's not effective, let us know. You might need a higher dose.
The active ingredient in Spedra belongs to the same group of medicines as sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), and vardenafil (Levitra). All PDE5 inhibitors function in a similar manner, but everyone is different. You might find that one medication suits you better than another, so we'll help you find the treatment that works best for you.
Spedra tends to be pricier than some other erectile dysfunction medications. This is because it's a brand-name tablet, unlike Viagra, which is available in a more affordable generic form. Since Spedra is relatively new, the manufacturer still holds exclusive rights to its formula, so a generic version isn't available yet.
We know that cost is an important factor in choosing the right medication for you. That's why we provide both branded and generic options when they're available. It's perfectly fine to be mindful of your budget, and we're here to help you find a medication that offers great value.
Why choose Spedra even though it costs more than other medications? It works the quickest, taking effect in just about 15 minutes. Sometimes, speed really makes a difference.
Spedra works about as well as Viagra, but it starts working more quickly than the little blue pill.
Some studies have shown that avanafil, the active ingredient in Spedra, is more effective than sildenafil, which is the active ingredient in Viagra. Additionally, avanafil is less likely to cause a drop in your blood pressure.
Spedra tends to have fewer reported side effects than other ED medications. However, it hasn't been available as long as Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra, so more side effects might be reported in the future.
As part of our service, we assist you in finding the right medication. You'll have the opportunity to discuss various options with a clinician before receiving your prescription.
Spedra isn't right for everyone, and there are a few things you should know before taking it.
Here's all the official information on it. If anything isn't clear, please let our clinician know, and they can discuss it with you.
