Warticon Description
Warticon is a topical cream or solution used to treat genital warts.
It contains podophyllotoxin, which prevents warts from spreading.
You should apply it twice a day for three days in a row.

What is Warticon?

Warticon is a medication used to treat genital warts. It's applied to warts on the penis or external warts on the vagina.

Warticon cream and solution is used to clear away the visible signs of genital warts, leaving your skin clear.

How does Warticon work?

Genital warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It is especially prevalent among people in their late teens and early 20s.

Warticon has an active ingredient known as Podophyllotoxin, which targets the HPV virus. It stops wart cells from multiplying and forming new warts. The existing wart cells are destroyed, allowing new healthy tissue to grow in their place.

This not only makes the warts disappear but also helps new, clear skin grow in their place, leaving no lasting marks.

What doses of Warticon are there?

The treatment plan for Warticon cream and solution is identical. You apply Warticon directly to the warts for three days, then take a break for four days. This completes one course of treatment.

How long does it take Warticon to work?

The duration of treatment differs for each individual. How severe the infection is and how many warts you have can affect how long treatment takes. Some people only require one course of treatment, while others may need to repeat it several times. A repeated course can last up to five weeks. If your warts haven't cleared after five weeks, please contact our clinician.

What should I do if I make a mistake using Warticon?

Establishing a routine is the best way to prevent mistakes when using Warticon. Many people find it helpful to keep the treatment in the bathroom to remind them to apply it after a bath or shower. If you apply more cream than needed, simply wipe away the excess and consult our clinician. If you forget to use Warticon, apply it as soon as you remember, but never use a double dose. If Warticon gets into your eyes, rinse them with clean water and seek medical advice. If it gets into your mouth, rinse your mouth with water immediately. Should you accidentally swallow Warticon, see your clinician or go to the hospital straight away, taking the Warticon cream with you.

How is Warticon different from other treatments for genital warts?

Most treatments for genital warts need to be applied every day throughout the treatment period.

You only need to use Warticon for three consecutive days, then take a break for four days. If the warts have disappeared during this period, the treatment is complete.

Is Warticon similar to any other treatments?

Warticon cream and solution work like other treatments for genital warts by being applied directly to the warts to help clear up visible symptoms.

Which version or dose of Warticon should I use?

Warticon cream and solution come in the same dosage and are used in the same manner. Your clinician will advise you on the most suitable treatment plan and how long you should use it.

How effective is Warticon?

Podophyllotoxin is considered the best treatment for getting rid of the visible signs of genital warts.

Research indicates that both the cream and solution work well in treating genital warts, with fewer than 50% of people seeing the warts return within 12 weeks after completing treatment.

Warticon is used to treat the warts, but it doesn't cure the HPV infection.

Do I need a prescription for Warticon?

You can't obtain Warticon without a prescription because it's essential to have a conversation with your

consulting with a clinician before beginning treatment for genital warts.

Having a chat with one of our clinicians will make sure you receive the correct treatment and have regular check-ups as you continue your treatment plan.
